Carob Tree Properties started nearly 5 years ago when the property market in Spain was already full of estate agents chasing sales to foreigners. However, we thought we could add something worthwhile from the point of view of both buyers and sellers. Particularly important is having bilingual staff, as most of the buyers speak English, while the sellers, architects, builders, lawyers etc. generally speak only Spanish. We deal, in Spain, mainly with inland properties because prices on the coast do not seem good value at the moment. Even inland, they have gone up substantially in the last few years, though fortunately they did start from a low base. We look after our clients, both before and after they have bought. This starts with an initial meeting to find out what kind of property the client is interested in, and then showing them properties that may be suitable. After they have decided to buy a particular property, we suggest they should have a lawyer, to ensure that the paperwork is in order when the sale is finalized. Once they have bought their property, we do not disappear! We are always there to help or deal with anything that may come up. Areas where we can be useful include childrens´ schools, arranging renovations or other building work, visits to medical centres and acting as interpreters. Clients who bought through us years ago are still in touch, asking for help on different things. (A couple of years ago, a client rang up at 7 in the morning, to ask where he could buy bacon sandwiches, because the removal van was due from England and “you know what British removal men are like!” Apparently, they all want bacon sandwiches.) We give the same level of service, irrespective of whether you have bought a house at € 25.000 for renovation, a new house that we are to build for you or an expensive mansion.
